Candlelight Vigil Held in Budapest for Palestine Victims
Budapest, August 2 (MTI) – A candlelight vigil was held in Budapest on Friday evening for Palestinian victims of the conflict in Gaza, organised by the Hungarian Palestinian community.
Participants placed candles on Chain Bridge and a coffin draped in a black shroud. In front of the coffin was a sign written in English and Hungarian calling for a boycott of Israeli products. Next to this was a photographic display of the victims.
Around 150 demonstrators held Hungarian and Palestinian flags.
The organisers have called on supporters to take part in a two-day protest to express solidarity with the Palestinian people, which is to include a demonstration held in front of Budapest’s St. Stephen’s basilica on Thursday.
