Six features, several shorts will be screened as part of the 2024 Imázsia Chinese Film Week held from May 24 to 28 at the Uránia National Film Theatre in Budapest, the organisers said on Saturday.
Xie Fei, the director of the film A Girl from Hunan, Sheng Ding, the director of the thriller Saving Mr Wu, and Wu Kuan Ping, the dean of the Beijing Film Academy, will be attending this year’s event jointly organised by the Beijing Film Academy, the Budapest Chinese Cultural Centre and Imazsia Nonprofit, with support of the Chinese Embassy in Budapest.
The event which also includes a literary forum opens with the 2018 film Dying to Survive by Wen Muye, one of the biggest hits of the past decades, a black comedy about people at the mercy of pharmaceutical companies.
