At Spago Budapest, the Sunday brunch is traditionally much more than a simple meal—it’s a slow, multi-course, leisurely ritual. During Advent, this experience takes on a special form, as the restaurant offers a variety of themed brunches available not only on Sundays but occasionally on weekdays as well.
On 7 December, the Santa Brunch brings childlike joy and seasonal surprises, while the Advent Brunch on 14 and 21 December offers intimate moments to get into the Christmas spirit. On 25 December, the Christmas Brunch transforms the holiday into a shared celebration, and on 28 December, the Farewell Brunch bids farewell to the year in style. Finally, on 1 January, the New Year’s Brunch welcomes the first days of the year with refined elegance.
On 24 December, Spago Budapest will serve an unforgettable five-course Christmas Eve dinner. Executive Chef István Szántó thoughtfully composes each course using the finest seasonal ingredients, creating a harmony of elegance and festive warmth. Dessert comes in the form of a Christmas Yule log made with pine honey and chestnuts—an indulgent and festive finale. From the first bite to the last toast, guests embark on a culinary journey that beautifully blends intimate Christmas traditions with premium gourmet excellence.
Those who prefer to celebrate Christmas at home with family and friends can once again enjoy Spago Budapest’s legendary takeaway turkey feast. The highlight is the whole roasted Norfolk bronze turkey, accompanied by creamy Ratte potato purée, vegetables steamed with crispy bacon, and apple–mulled wine braised red cabbage—a true taste of the season. A traditional spiced stuffing adds homely, classic comfort, while mandarin cranberry sauce and roasted turkey jus create a harmonious finish.
The carefully packed feast serves 8–10 people and arrives with Spago’s signature quality, ready to become the centrepiece of any holiday table. On New Year’s Eve, Spago welcomes guests with a dazzling six-course gala dinner, offering a blend of classic New Year’s flavours and creative culinary craftsmanship. The evening begins with a champagne reception in the grand hall of Matild Café & Cabaret, after which guests return to Spago to enjoy the chef’s creations, including pike-perch fillet with marinated beluga lentils, wild mushroom risotto with sweetbread, US Angus beef filet mignon with seared foie gras, and a rich chocolate fondant with champagne cream. A live DJ set accompanies the dinner, leading up to the midnight countdown and celebratory toast.
For guests preferring to dine earlier, Spago also offers an early New Year’s Eve dinner from 5 PM: a delectable five-course menu perfect as an elegant start to late-night celebrations or city programs.
Matild Palace’s New Year’s Eve cabaret show brings a unique sense of glamour to the night. The evening begins with champagne and canapés in the Matild Café & Cabaret, followed by a spectacular sequence of dance and acrobatic performances, live music from the Group’n’Swing Orchestra, and captivating vocal acts.
The gala dinner features a luxurious multi-course gourmet menu showcasing exceptional ingredients—from wagyu tartare and Asian-glazed lobster tail to duck ravioli and butter-roasted veal.
