Couple fleeing from Ukraine got married in Hungary
Fleeing the war, a Ukrainian-Hungarian dual citizen and his wife got married in Hungary.
The man has already been working in Hungary for 5 years, but when the war broke out, his family set off with a suitcase in early March. The couple has been together for 14 years. The woman lived in Transcarpathia with the children. After the war had started, they immediately followed her husband. All they brought was a suitcase and the children’s school bags. The woman then asked her husband to marry her. “He was very surprised and scared, but we love each other so he overcame his fear. – said the woman to rtl.hu. They believe marriage also means stability for the family. “It was the safest choice for us and the children, too.” – said the woman.
They were helped out by The Hungarian Red Cross
As for the wedding organisation, The Hungarian Red Cross helped in everything. They managed to solve the witness issue too: the director of the organisation became one of the witnesses, while the mayor of Győrszemere stepped in as the other witness. In fact, they received a lot of help from the mayor. They did not even have a wedding dress, so they got one as a gift. On top of that, the cost of the makeup and hairstyle was also covered. – reports index.hu.

They want to return to Ukraine
