The best wines of the most famous Hungarian wine region

Tokaj is Hungary’s most famous and popular wine-region of all time. Although until the beginning of 2000, the name Tokaj only was associated with sweet wines, winemakers proved that the Hungarian wine region makes excellent dry wines as well.

Origo reported that last year nearly 1000 guests were interested in tasting different kinds of wines at the Tokaji March Great Tasting. Still, this year, organisers expect even more visitors. Tokaj is a well-known wine region not just in Hungary but all around the world, and besides its most famous aszú wines, the furmints also become more and more popular on the international market.

Visitors who attend the glamourous Tokaji March Great Tasting will have the opportunity to taste nearly 150 types of wines from 60 wineries. The event offers a wide range of wines which are made with different grapes and by different techniques.

The world-famous Tokaj aszú wine and the furmints are musts, but many other wines will be available, for example, the puttonyos wines, champagnes, and muskotálys. Moreover, organisers are preparing three master courses for visitors interested in the wine region.
