Deputy Prime Minister meets Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem
Budapest, May 24 (MTI) – Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén met Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem in Budapest on Tuesday to discuss the situation in Jerusalem and the state of Christian communities in the east, the prime minister’s press chief said.
Semjén briefed Theophilos on relations between the Hungarian Orthodox Church and the state and the country’s church-run institutions.
Theophilos will later meet Cardinal Péter Erdő, Archbishop of Esztergom-Budapest, and visit the Archabbey of Pannonhalma, where he will hold talks with Arch Abbot Asztrik Várszegi.
