Online daily Bors reports that a 15-year-old boy from Nagykáta stole a car as not to be late for school. The student regrets his act, the owner of the vehicle forgave him, and the boy’s grandmother says that he had a rough year.
A lot of parents would be proud of the 15-year-old boy’s devotion to studying and school, who decided to steal a car in order to get to school on time. The story is not fresh out of the oven, though it only surfaced a couple of days ago. The incident took place on the 7th of December 2017, when the boy (to whom Bors refers to as Peti to not violate his rights) missed the bus to Szentlőrinckáta, the one he usually travels to the school with. However, Peti had no intention of missing first period, so he stole a Fiat Uno which was parked near a local café. He found the key left inside the car and rushed to the school, attending all classes.
The owner of the silver Fiat popped by the café to grab a coffee and was quite shocked when he found his old car missing.
‘This is a small place, everyone knows everyone so it’s not unusual for us to leave our keys in the car. It never leads to any trouble’ – told Bors the owner.
The man, who works as a car mechanic, set out on foot to find his car, then proceeded to report the missing vehicle to the police, and finally had no choice but to walk to his workplace. In the meantime, he posted the missing car on his social media profile. In a relatively short time, the police managed to find the vehicle, following traffic camera footage and eye-witness tips. The car was abandoned at the end of a street in Nagykáta. Bors reports that only 30 kilometres were taken with it.
