Drug trafficking network dismantled very close to Budapest

In early 2025, investigators turned their attention to a 29-year-old man who, according to intelligence, had been selling crystal meth in Kistarcsa and the Kerepes area, in Pest county, very close to the capital.
Drug trafficking network shut down by police forces

It was established that Renátó L. sold the drug in small quantities, typically between one and three grams. It also became clear that he regularly made phone calls to obtain the substance from a supplier, says the police in a statement.
Officers soon identified the dealer’s upper-level contact as 30-year-old István K., who supplied a wide customer base with quantities ranging from one to 100 grams of the illegal substance in the wider Gödöllő area.
However, the investigation did not stop there. As detectives continued to unravel the network, they reached 21-year-old Alex F., who supplied his approximately 40 customers with the prohibited substance in quantities of several kilograms. The man also involved others in the operation.
He relied on trusted associates to deliver the drugs, using them as couriers. One of them was 36-year-old Kristóf L., who acted as an accomplice. Alex F. attempted to conceal the proceeds of the criminal activity by purchasing high-value vehicles and registering them in the names of relatives.
