European Water Polo Championships in Budapest – Hungary defeats Croatia
There was no doubt from the very first second that Team Hungary wanted to win the Monday night game against Croatia – even despite of finising in the first place of Group B anyway, Offical site of European Championship reports.

Tibor Benedek Head Coach highlighted after the game, the greatest motivation was that they could avoid meeting Serbia in the semi-final by beating Croatia.
The Hungarian team started the game with a disatvantage of 3 goals, as they couldn’t make use of the extra player chances. But as we could get used to it in the previous games, the reigning world champions didn’t collapse, just improved patiently. This patience payed off, and they got into the game soon.
