Viktor Orbán acknowledged his defeat and congratulated the winner. Although the final results are still far from in, the Tisza Party is close to a two-thirds victory.
The result is painful but clear; we congratulate the winning party
Viktor Orbán and the Fidesz leadership were greeted with thunderous applause on the stage set up at the Bálna. The prime minister immediately stated: the election result is painful for them, but clear; they have not been entrusted with the responsibility of governing, so they congratulate the winning party.
Orbán thanked the voters and those who voted for Fidesz-KDNP, as well as voters from beyond the border. As he put it, we do not yet know exactly what this election result means, but he declared that they would continue their work even from the opposition, and they would not let their voters or the Hungarian people down.
“We will not give up. Never, never, never, but never will we give up!”
Orbán declared, prompting the audience to burst into applause once again. Once the wounds have healed, the work will begin soon, and Orbán said they will need all 2.5 million of their voters for this.
“God above us all, Hungary above all else,” the prime minister concluded his speech.

My only reaction is: Hahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaa
Tovarishi konyec!!!!
A completely shite government has been resoundingly dispatched from power by an electorate who woke up to the fact that they were being taken for a ride.
Vege van, kicsi!!!!!
To the winner go the spoils.
History repeats itself, if not exactly the same way. As one born with a memory, I recall HOPE & CHANGE, the Obama party line that left us with Iran and billions of dollars sent to the Mullahs by one Skinny Kenyan whose most memorable moment was when he sat in his Empty Suit in his Empty Chair pronouncing Empty Slogans that followed the HOPE with only CHANGE left in the pockets of poorer Americans fooled once, twice, and then the third time with Biden.
The same Biden who left the world with 50% inflated prices on everything and a gay ambassador to Budapest whose first act was to interfere with Hungary’s judicial system.
Today they blame Donald Trump for all the above he had nothing to do with.
Tomorrow the same nitwits on both sides of the Atlantic will blame Orbán.
They blamed Orbán for the cheapest energy prices in Europe; and then they will blame Orbán going forward for the most expensive. Not only do the spoils go to the winner; but the so will the ruins.
THE MORAL OF THIS STORY?
We’ve seen this play before.
I’m here and it is a very celebratory atmosphere. Fantastic. There will be a lot of work to do to clean out the infestation of Fidesz corruption within all government institutions and to investigate the crimes committed by the Fidesz thieves.
Congratulations to Magyar and Tisza supporters!
While the numbers are yet unclear to me, it is clear that the win was solid.
May Magyar and Tisza Party be as good as you think it is!
I will be interested in seeing if the first changes are that all parental power to protect the unit and their kids is underminded. The globalist grab and destroy.
The situation is very simple for Magyar Péter : if he makes moves to gradually improve the economy, without importing non-Europeans or changing schools to sexualize children, he will be successful, and, therefore, reelected.
If he does not, things will become rockier than they already are, and he will not be reelected.
I am hoping, against my own instincts, that Magyar Péter will do right and be successful for The Hungarian People.
@Mouton – first of all, very gracious of you.
Secondly – Mr. Magyar broke with Fidesz over the pedophile pardon affair, where his then-wife Mrs. Varga and Mrs. Novák took the fall for pardoning convicted pedophile Mr. Kónya. So we should be good, there.

Getting the European Union funds to flow again would be a windfall for Hungary – the blocked amount already is ten (10) percent of our GDP. Trickle that down in health, education, transport …
Fingers crossed he will do what is right for Hungary, in an EU and NATO context.
Thank you, Dear Norbert, for your gracious words!
I think we all ought respect the clearly demonstrated will of The Hungarian People, and give Magyar some time to effect what he feels are positive changes, before we start criticizing him.
I remember clearly the Western Elite help bring V. Putin to power in Russia, and how surprised they were when he acted in defence of Russia, this by seizing their ill-gotten gains in Russia and redirecting those funds to the Russian people.
He, Putin, restored public funding, public trust, and therefore stabilized Russia, after which it began a slow rebirth towards what it was before 1917.
My hopes for Magyar are the same – that he fulfills his stated determinations for Hungary, and, therefore, does not reverse those positions to cater to The Western Elite.
Yes, my fingers are crossed for Magyar.
Let’s move on past the contentious election debating and reflect upon current events.
I’ve done an AI search and the two important world leaders who inserted themselves in Hungarian politics that have not as of yet sent congratulatory messages to Peter Magyar are D. Trump and V. Putin. Trump and Vance really look bad after publicly backing in such a conspicuous way someone who lost so badly.
I think Ai does not record Chinese influence because the Chinese do not operate like lava, but, like water.
As to our president, Dear Larry, I do not think he took concrete actions for Orbán that would substantiate all the supportive statements he made.
Sometimes I think our president, Trump, thinks that, just because he has said something, something concrete has actually been done.
Talk has it’s place, but, it is never sufficient, in and of itself.
Losing his bets on his favourite, in The Hungarian Election, Dear Larry, is not nearly so problematic for our president as losing his war with Iran, or backing away from other major tenets of his candidacy.
He is in real political hot water, and he has none but himself to blame.
Contrary to popular belief … I do follow Fox News (steadfast recommendation) and even The Hungarian Conservative, right down to Mr. Pilkington.
