The Hilton Garden Inn hotel chain’s newest addition was opened in Budapest. The international hotel chain has over 820 hotels in 42 countries – Hungary is now one of them.
Hilton Garden Inn Budapest City Centre was opened this Tuesday, reports VG. The hotel awaits guests with 214 rooms. There are a total of three event halls in the hotel, the biggest of which can host up to 100 people. The restaurant offers meals made from local ingredients, as well as various craft beers.
It is located in District 6 of the capital, close to St Stephen Basilica and the Opera. So, it is an ideal place for tourists in the heart of Budapest.
The hotel is aimed at guests arriving in Hungary both for business and for pleasure.Â
The new hotel in Budapest already seems to be quite popular, as Manuela K. Brode, the general manager of the hotel, revealed that according to their business plans, it seems like they will be 70% booked on average for the coming period. Over 50 new members of staff have already been hired.
Alexandra Murray, the regional vice president of Hilton’s Focused Service Operations responsible for the areas of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, talked about how the Hilton chain, which is 100 years old this year, is still developing dynamically. Recently, they have been opening a new addition to the chain every week in the region. In Europe, there are altogether 65 Hilton Garden Inn hotels, although this is the very first one in Hungary.Â
Murray revealed that their future plans include opening a hotel outside of the Hungarian capital as well.
Brode reported that building works of the hotel started in 2015 and lasted for three years, with some breaks in between. The owners are independent investors, who did not disclose how much the investment cost, but their contract states the hotel will be running in Budapest at least for over 20 years.
