Fatal air accident in Hungary: small plane crashes – UPDATE: both passengers died

A fatal air accident happened between Martonvásár and Ráckeresztúr in Hungary. According to the police, a small plane crashed into an agricultural field. UPDATE: It later emerged that a sports plane had crashed, and both men died on the spot.

A fatal air accident occurred near Ráckeresztúr. The police have started the investigation, the Fejér County Police Headquarters announced on police.hu on Saturday noon.

According to the statement, a small plane crashed into an agricultural area between Martonvásár and Ráckeresztúr at around 10 AM, Index reports.

According to the National Ambulance Service, one person has died. Later, it was reported that both passengers have lost their lives. Ambulances were sent to the scene and an ambulance helicopter also arrived.

As the Hungarian Defence Forces posted on Facebook, “the Air Search and Rescue Service of the Hungarian Defence Forces also took part in the search for a small plane missing near Martonvásár”:
