Fidesz-backed mayor bought votes for EUR 25 in Járdánháza? – VIDEO

Ákos Hadházy, a non-aligned member of the Hungarian Parliament and representative of Zugló, went to Járdánháza, a small, poor Hungarian village near Ózd, to talk with people whose votes were allegedly bought by the local Fidesz strongman, the settlement’s mayor, Gábor Kovács.
One vote cost EUR 25 in Járdánháza, residents told Hadházy
According to the video shared by MP Hadházy, one vote cost EUR 25 at the 9 June municipal elections. Those who did not want to support the Fidesz-backed local mayor were threatened to be conscripted and taken away from the village.
Hadházy talked with multiple residents who said their votes were bought by Gábor Kovács, the settlement’s mayor, for EUR 25. Some said they accepted the money but did not vote for the mayor. Others admitted that they not only accepted the money but also cast their ballot accordingly.

Fidesz will help out its ally, says Hadházy
Interestingly, Hadházy found some people who said they received the money personally from the mayor. Others said they got the money from the mayor’s associates. Hadházy added that it would not be surprising if the police did not launch an investigation despite all the evidence, and if the mayor could exercise some pressure or distribute financial relief to change the testimonies. Ha added that Járdánháza is not an exception but a general practice. He said that was how Fidesz organised fraudulent elections in the country with the help of its propaganda media.
The local government of Járdánháza has seven members. The mayor, Gábor Kovács, and four councillors are independent, while two won as official candidates of PM Orbán’s Fidesz-KDNP. Mr Kovács has been the mayor of the village since 2010. In 2024, the population of the settlement was less than 1,700.

That’s nothing compared to the election bribes of the Viktator. The funny thing is that the Viktator bribes are paid for by the voters….but they are to stupid to understand it.
