“We will free Budapest from the grip of [Ferenc] Gyurcsány,” Alexandra Szentkirályi, the ruling parties’ candidate for mayor in the upcoming municipal elections, said at her campaign opener held at the Bálna centre on Wednesday.
“It is high time we turned off the Gyurcsány show in Budapest,” Szentkirályi said, adding that right-wing parties “have already demonstrated what this city is like when they control it”.
Concerning her programme, Szentkirályi said she would “stem corruption at City Hall”, eliminate a “wasteful” municipal bureaucracy and a “chaos” in its traffic, while her administration would make the city “tidy, orderly, and liveable”.
She said she would create a municipal budget council to control the city’s financial stability, as well as provide a wifi service in public areas free of charge.

Make ALL the promises YOU like, but unless you EMBRACE Democracy, and REMEMBER it is DIALOGUE, if you don’t have that on your ticket, it would be APPALLING.
What we are living in throughout Hungary, created by the present Prime Minister, the Party leader of Fidesz – Victor Mihaly. Orban, is “Hellish”.
Orban, amongst MANY many of his FAILINGS over 14 plus years in POWER, continues his DISTILLATION of Democracy.
What a MESS he and his Fidesz Government have GIVEN 9.6 million Hungarians to wake up and try living in each day.
Fidesz Candidate stands for office carrying a LARGE large load of humiliating LUGGAGE, and the question must be asked – Do we TRUST Fidesz ???
My position is No and they as a POLITICAL Party should not be voted in nor ALLOWED to govern, lead nor Rule any public appointed official positions, for what as a Political Party have PRESENTED us to live in, that will, under the Orban – Fidesz Government – WORSEN.
Democracy is Dialogue which FIDESZ dismiss.
