Foodora: Popular food delivery service in Hungary becomes cheaper

Food delivery company Foodora recently informed its users that it has updated its Terms and Conditions. Two of these changes are very beneficial for users.

Foodora changes T&Cs

For consumers, the update of the Terms and Conditions brings two very positive changes.

  1. From now on, the possibility of ordering below the minimum order value will be gradually introduced.
  2. The system usage fee varies depending on the amount of the order.
  3. The amount of the low-value order is displayed when the products are added to the shopping cart.

Out of these, the first and the third ones are the more positive changes.

Foodora, then known as Foodpanda, introduced the system usage fee in November 2022, citing increased costs and the fact that their competitors were also applying a similar charge, HVG reports.

In the beginning, they charged HUF 110 per order, which has now risen to HUF 150. The charge now starts from here and

increases in proportion to the amount of the order, up to HUF 300.

As regards the change to the minimum order value, it will be possible in the future to order below the minimum order value set by each provider. In this case, we will have to pay a fixed fee, called “low order fee”.

  1. I just heard this report recently: most customers of such extravegent spending practices drop off around the 2 yr mark. People are undicaplined and do not use the food as meant to be used. And then have to keep shopping the old way to supplement the odds & ends of what’s left. Misbehavior is always the cause of failure, debt, not moving uip towards the life goals of all types. This is no exception. Generally people spend way more on eating than they should and don’t even keep track of anthing over change in their pocket. And/or deny, lie, misreport. When I have an extra busy month I know that what I need to purchase is everything to make sandwiches everyday. I’m my own SUBWAY but at 1/4 the cost. (no salaries, rent, utitlities, sick days etc added in)
