Budapest Airport: Severe thunderstorms could cause delays in air traffic – UPDATED: terminal, runway closed

Change language:
Budapest Airport would like to inform you that – based on the information provided by HungaroControl – the severe line of thunderstorms currently moving through Hungarian airspace may cause flight delays and even cancellations today and tomorrow (7-8 July).
To maintain the safety of air traffic, temporary airspace restrictions may be introduced, increasing the likelihood of delays as affected flights will be able to reach their destinations via detours. The measures may affect the traffic of Ferenc Liszt International Airport and the traffic flying over Hungarian airspace, Budapest Airport wrote in a post shared on Facebook one hour ago.

HungaroControl and Budapest Airport are working closely together to ensure passenger safety, avoid disruptions and facilitate the smoothest possible flow of air traffic, minimizing flight delays. The two companies are kindly asking passengers to check the departure and arrival times of their flights before travelling.
