Duna Aréna in Budapest to host events beyond swimming

The organizing committee of FINA-Budapest 2017, who is now responsible for the commercialization of Duna Aréna, has announced at a press conference that the Aréna will be turned into a general venue that may host land sports or even concerts, as 24.hu reports.
Present at the press conference were Sándor Balogh, Éva Szántó and Tamás Gyárfás, who all took part in the organization of the 2017 FINA World Aquatics Championships, held in Budapest from 14 to 30 July 2017, for which Duna Aréna served as the central venue besides Balatonfüred. Fina 2017 has been praised by president Julio C. Maglione as the best world championship in FINA’s history.
Now, the world championship project company – Bp2017 – turned into an enterprise responsible for utilizing and profiting off Duna Aréna, which brings with itself a host of changes. As Sándor Balogh said, the swimming complex and the seating was restructured.
