VIDEO, PHOTOS: Man pulled from under tram in Budapest, busy party tram line revamp begins next month

Firefighters had to rescue a man from under a tram in Budapest on Tuesday evening, in the capital’s 10th district. Meanwhile, the Budapest Transport Company (BKV) announced that the renovation of a section of Budapest’s popular party tram line will begin this summer, resulting in significant changes to the city’s public transport system.

According to Infostart, the tram struck a man in Budapest’s 10th district, at the crossroads of Kőrösi Csoma Sándor Street and Harmat Street. Fortunately, firefighters were able to lift the tram and pull the man out from underneath. He was then rushed to hospital.

Section of busy party tram line 4–6 to be renovated soon in Budapest
According to the Budapest Transport Company (BKV), tram track renovation will begin on the busy 4–6 tram line in Budapest on 21 June, coinciding with the start of the summer school holidays in Hungary. The affected section is between Jászai Mari Square and Tátra Street, one of the busiest parts of the 4–6 route. The work will continue until the end of August and will include the renovation of 415 metres of tram track, index.hu reported.
