Hungarian league champions Ferencváros are savouring qualification to the Champions League group stage for the first time in 25 years after a goalless draw against Molde in Budapest was enough see Serhiy Rebrov’s team through on away goals.

A cagey first half saw only one shot on target between the two sides, and that a long-rage effort from Ferencváros which was easily gather by the Molde goalkeeper.

The second half was slightly more open and Molde’s desperation to gain control of the tie became more evident, the Norwegian champions creating two good chances to score in the final twenty minutes, only for DĂ©nes Dibusz to make an excellent save with his left foot at his near post in the 70th minute and for a Molde forward to half-volley first wide following a cut-back from the right byline.

There would be no opening goal for either side though, an outcome which perfectly suited Ferencváros in their traditional green and white and they become the first Hungarian club to progress to the Champions League group stage more than once since the competition’s overhaul in 1992.

  1. The Ferencvaros team has more Africans than hungarians, you can not call it a hungarian team and I for one will not be watching their games, sorry
