Germany announces Hungary a risk-free area – Where can you travel w/o restrictions?
The number of countries you can freely travel to from Hungary just increased on Sunday when Germany decided to change Hungary’s classification from a risk area to a non-risk country.
Great news for anyone who wishes to travel to Germany from Hungary as, thanks to the latest German decision, Hungary is no longer a risk territory, which means that
any restrictions about travelling to Germany were lifted on Sunday.
Index reports that Germany currently has four different classifications for foreign countries:
- risk-free areas (no travel restrictions)
- risk area (the virus is substantially present)
- highly infected areas (with particularly high infection rates)
- areas of variant concern (where the spreading of variant(s) is present).
There are a few important things to keep in mind, however. Telex warned that if someone is travelling to Germany by plane, then the procedure is the same, and you would still have to get a test or provide an immunity certificate.
- Would you travel abroad with a Hungarian immunity certificate? Here is all the info!
- Euro 2020: foreigners visiting will be treated as diplomatically protected persons
Also, if you are travelling by any other means but would like to make a stop in Austria, you need to comply with the Austrian restrictions.
Where else can you travel?
Hungary has made several bilateral agreements over the past few weeks, and anyone with a Hungarian immunity certificate will be able to travel to Moldova without mandatory quarantine or negative test results from Tuesday.
Moreover, you can travel to ten other countries with the immunity certificate:
- Bahrein
- Romania
- Czech Republic
- Slovenia
- Serbia
- Turkey
- North Macedonia
- Montenegro
- Georgia
- Mongolia.

And when do we know if we Can come and visit Hungary in July.
We Cannot wait much longer
Mongolia is nice this time of the year.
Predictions from the “close” inner circle of those who know and have an ear in the right places, is that Thursday or Friday of this week, Prime Minister – Victor Orban will virtually open all borders to those from any country who wish to visit Hungary.
Tourist visits will be permitted under validation of Immunization disclosure.
Just a few more sleeps and it ALL is predicted to HAPPEN and we will be an open to ALL welcoming country again.
That’s FANTASTIC news, Norbert.
Let’s hope that you are correct – but remember, NO ILLEGAL (MUSLIM) MIGRANTS are allowed in Hungary (the German chancellor caused this problem so Germany can keep ALL of them).
So 12 countries including Hungary out of 195 in the world recognise this hocus focus card that is sometimes issued in Hungary (a bureaucratic country that has a very inefficient bureaucracy.) A major feat. Yet again a boast that is worthless and makes this country look very stupid from an international point of view.
Unfortunately the Hungarian (Schengen) visa centers around the world are still closed, so if we do open – EU only. Which begs the question after Mr. Orban’s reportedly highly successful UK visit: where is the UK reciprocal travel arrangement?

Please Mr Alfred read and learn. Migration is such a wonderful thing. Without it Hungarians would still be in in Asia. If you are so opposed to migrations perhaps you should trace your roots and follow them home.
The first country on the Open Border list Bahrein. As I recall it is a Muslim country.
