Get ready for Great Race: Formula-1 race cars, rally and tour cars, motors and trucks in the heart of Budapest
Mmonline.hu writes that two Formula-1 pilots, Daniel Ricciardo and Valtteri Bottas will both be attending Great Race V, which will be held in the city centre of Budapest on the 1st of May. The world champion title-holder Mercedes’ Finnish pilot will race a 2014 World Championships winner car, while the Australian will also speed with a WC winner car.
Formula-1 race cars, rally and tour cars, motors and trucks in the heart of Budapest – this is the Great Race, which has become a tradition in Budapest and is certainly a curiosity because fans can get as close to drivers as possible.
Three former F-1 racers will also come to Budapest for the Great Race: the Austrian Gerhard Berger, who returns to the city with a NASCAR car as the pilot of the German WTCC, his compatriot Karl Wendlinger and the German Timo Glock, who is currently in DTM. Naturally, the stars of Hungarian car sports, Norbert Michelisz and Norbert Kiss will also join the field.
This year the race gets a new route, because of the increasing popularity of the event. Városháza Park will be the paddock, which will be open to the public on the 30th of April, so that people can check out the cars, which will touch upon Károly Boulevard, Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Road, Andrássy Aveune, Oktogon and the Opera House the next day.
According to f1vilag.hu, the organisers are quite proud that this is going to be the 5th year the race, because it has become an illustrious event, which is attested by the attitude of the invited pilots, who even sent a video for their fans and can’t wait to be here.
The morning programme will start at 10 am and last until 12.50, while the afternoon programme will start at 2 pm and end around 4.20 pm.
