Gloria Gaynor is coming to Budapest
HVG.hu reports that one of the most well-known disco queens of the world will have a concert in Budapest in December. Bringing her greatest hits, Gloria Gaynor will entertain the audience in the Papp László Budapest Sportaréna, on the 29th of December.
After releasing her first single She’ll Be Sorry / Let Me Go Baby in 1965, Gloria Gaynor’s career got to its peak in 1975, when several singles – including Honey Bee, Let’s Make a Deal, and Reach Out I’ll Be There – of the album Never Can Say Goodbye became hits.
However, after the disco era came to an end, the albums of Gloria Gaynor could not find such success anymore, yet I Will Survive, released in 1978, made her world famous and is still a rather well-known song among people.
I Will Survive, regarded as the anthem of wanting to live and of emancipated women, brought the singer a Grammy award in the category of disco in 1980. Moreover, the American Library of Congress included the song in its catalogue of the most important audio recordings in 2016.
Surely, the audience of the Budapest Aréna will get to experience it live in December and have a wonderful time at the show. According to Gloria Gaynor’s website, tickets will be on sale soon, so make sure to grab yours on time.
