‘Golden Jerusalem’ photo exhibition opened in Budapest
Budapest (MTI) – Hungary’s state secretary for religious, ethnic and social affairs on Tuesday attended the opening of a photo exhibition entitled Golden Jerusalem in the Israeli Cultural Institute in Budapest, organised by the Unified Hungarian Israelite Congregation (EMIH) and the Jewish Agency for Israel.
Miklós Soltész told the gathering that Jerusalem today is the centre of three world religions and it would be a mistake to question thousands of years of religion or pour doubt over the existence of one religion or the other in the holy city.
He also said it is incumbent on everyone “to reverse the current crisis of values in some way”.
Israel’s ambassador to Budapest Yosef Amrani said at the event that for Jews, Israel’s capital city is Jerusalem. It is the centre of Jewish life and it would be good where the international community to accept this.
