Gordon Ramsay to open his first Central European restaurant in Budapest!

The world-renowned British chef, Gordon Ramsay, is bringing his culinary expertise to Hungary with the opening of his first Central European restaurant, Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill, in Budapest’s Dorothea Hotel.

According to reports from Portfolio, the Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill, the first in the Central European region, is scheduled to open in the summer of 2026 as part of a strategic partnership between the Dorothea Hotel, Budapest, an Autograph Collection property, and Gordon Ramsay Restaurants Global.

The celebrity chef known worldwide

Ramsay’s name is familiar not only in the fine dining world. Through shows like Hell’s Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, and MasterChef, he has become one of the most famous chefs in television history. However, his career began long before the cameras: the Scottish-born chef trained in classical French kitchens and became one of London’s youngest Michelin-starred restaurant managers in just a few years.

“It is an honor for us to host the first Gordon Ramsay restaurant in Central Europe. This partnership allows us to bring one of the world’s most renowned culinary experiences to Budapest. We look forward to welcoming both international travelers and local guests at the inspiring Dorothea Hotel, where they will soon be able to taste Gordon Ramsay’s signature dishes,” said Dorothea Hotel director William Boulton-Smith.

Gordon Ramsay Restaurants now operates over 50 locations worldwide, from the three-Michelin-star London flagship to Bar & Grill venues in Dubai and Las Vegas. Budapest will join this portfolio and, as the first Central European location, is expected to receive special attention.

British bistro vibes with Hungarian ingredients

The Ramsay restaurant at the Dorothea Hotel will showcase the chef’s popular Bar & Grill concept. The menu will combine American and British classics with local ingredients, including steaks, seafood, fresh vegetables, and modern presentations.

“Budapest is a beautiful city with interesting architecture and a rich cultural and culinary heritage. I am thrilled to join this wonderful culinary scene with the opening of Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill at the Dorothea Hotel,” Ramsay said.

According to the press release, the kitchen will follow Ramsay’s philosophy of simple but perfectly executed dishes using seasonal ingredients. Hungarian suppliers are also expected to be part of the chef’s supply chain, offering new opportunities for local culinary professionals.

Ramsay recently visited Budapest

A few days ago, Gordon Ramsay strolled through Budapest and shared a short video on his social media. The clip shows him seated on the terrace of a local restaurant called “Hungarian Hell’s Kitchen” — an obvious reference to Ramsay’s famous American TV show, Hell’s Kitchen, now in its 23rd season and still one of the most popular culinary series in the world. His humorous caption simply read: “things you find in Budapest.”

Later, Ramsay celebrated his 59th birthday at an elegant rooftop bar, St. Andrea Wine & Skybar, enjoying steak and red wine. The atmosphere, iconic panoramic views, and local culinary experiences all contributed to the anticipation surrounding the opening of the Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill in Budapest in the summer of 2026.
