Great Race IV on the 1st of May – Terrestrial and aerial parade in Budapest
Can you imagine race cars, race motors and even race trucks in the heart of Budapest? This is the Great Race, which is not only a unique spectacle (it’s almost point of honour that the best of these “professions” perform) but it also tries to bring the audience closer to technical sports. Just like in previous years, it will be worth going to the Danube shore on the public holiday.
The event is almost like a tradition in Budapest and it is definitely a curiosity as fans can get so close to drivers, race cars, motors and trucks that they wouldn’t be able to do so in a closed track. The terrestrial and aerial parade is a special experience for the lovers of technical sports on the 1st of May. Get ready for shows by Nascar and DTM cars, rally, cross-country rally and drift race machines on the Castle Garden Bazaar – Clark Adam Square – Elizabeth Bridge – Ferenciek Square circuit.
Red Bull’s classic planes and significant characters of aviation are usually in the limelight of the air-show. Some members of the Boeing B737/Airbus A320 family also paid their duty in the previous years. Airshowinfo.hu suggests finding a high-altitude spot on the Buda side so you’ll have the beautiful cityscape as a background of the show.
There’s also going to be a zeroth day at the Budaörs Airport with the lanes and shows of Flying Bulls. This year one of the special guests will be the legendary Austrian Formula-1 pilot, Gerhard Berger.
The only problem is the weather: according to the forecast it is very probable that it’s going to rain on Sunday. If the weather will be graceful enough, then szeretlekmagyarorszag.hu collected the programmes you can enjoy at the Great Race:
