Great success at the US Open: Tímea Babos is in the 3rd round
HVG.hu reports the great news that after a really tough match in the first round of the US Open, Tímea Babos could wonderfully win the second round’s game, and thus, she became the very first Hungarian tennis player to get into the third round.
For the first time ever Tímea Babos, Hungarian tennis player succeeded in getting into the third round of the US Open Tennis Championships. This year we can all root for her and hope that she will achieve further great results while going on playing at the Championships.
In the first round Babos played against the Austrian Barbara Haas: eventually, the Hungarian player managed to win the match despite the early score of 0-4. However, the second round seemed victorious from an earlier stage as Babos defeated the Dutch Richel Hogenkamp for 6-2 and 6-4.
Now, Hungarians shall have their fingers crossed for the player to keep on performing so well, as she is to play against Simona Halep, Romanian tennis player on this Saturday (August 3), writes MNO.hu. The two players have already battled against each other three times with various outcomes, therefore, this round’s match seems to be an exciting battle.[learn_more caption=”The outcomes of the three matches “] Firstly, Halep defeated Babos by 7:5 and 6:1 in Budapest (2013); however, their second meeting was also in Budapest (2014) and ended with the victory of the Hungarian player by 1:6, 7:5, 6:3.
