Gross wages rise 5.7 pc in December, up 4.2 pc in 2015
Budapest, February 19 (MTI) – Gross wages in Hungary rose by an annual 5.7 percent in December and grew by 4.2 percent in 2015 as a whole, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Thursday.
The average gross wage in December was 272,647 forints (EUR 876). The average net wage in December came to 178,585 forints.
Excluding the 201,500 Hungarians in fostered work schemes, the average gross wage rose by 6 percent in December to 288,588 forints while net wages increased to 189,026 forints.
Full-time fostered workers’ gross earnings amounted to 79,793 forints on average, 2.3 percent more than in December 2014.
Including fostered workers, about 2,910,900 people were employed in Hungary in December, 2.4 percent more than a year earlier. Excluding fostered workers, the number increased by 2 percent.
