Haselbock, Buchbinder, Vienna Boys’ Choir to perform at Liszt Music Academy in 2022/23

The Budapest Liszt Music Academy will feature international performers including Martin Haselbock and Rudolf Buchbinder, and the Vienna Boys’ Choir and launch a new programme series presenting young talents during its 2022/2023 season, organisers said on Tuesday.

A gala evening will be held on May 30 to celebrate the Day of Hungarian Classical Music, Domonkos Herboly, the director general of the Hungarian National Philharmonic told a press conference. The programme will feature recitals by soprano Orsolya Roser, mezzo-soprano Kornélia Bakos, tenor Szabolcs Brickner and bass Krisztián Cser from Béla Bartók’s Hungarian Pictures, Zoltán Kodály’s Te Deum and Ernő Dohnányi’s the Veil of Pierrette with the Hungarian National Choir and the National Philharmonic conducted by Oliver von Dohnányi, he said.

The Baroque Sopranos series will see the Budapest debut of French soprano Chantal Santon Jeffrey, and Russian soprano Julia Lezhneva returning to Budapest with the Venice Baroque Orchestra. Austrian soprano Anna Prohaska will perform with the Basel Chamber Orchestra.
