Hip-hop audience breaks Guinness record with plastic rod orchestra
(MTI) – The hip-hop band Punnany Massif and its audience broke a Guinness record at their concert in Budapest on Friday night when 4,000 people played Beethoven’s Ode to Joy together on plastic PVC rods.
The concert at Budapest Park hosted a physics experiment, an idea of a secondary-school teacher who wanted to make the subject more popular. The experiment was televised live, and audiences in other cities and towns joined in through a live connection. State secretary in charge of higher education Laszlo Palkovics was present to authenticate the record on site.
