Hollywood stars in Budapest: Dave Bautista arrives, more A-listers to follow

Change language:
Hollywood heavyweight Dave Bautista has officially arrived in Budapest, kicking off what promises to be a major influx of international film stars in the Hungarian capital. The actor and former professional wrestler confirmed his arrival after a boxing session at a local gym, where he shared that he’ll be staying in Hungary for the next few weeks.
Bautista isn’t here just for sightseeing: his visit marks the beginning of production preparations for Alpha Gang, a long-anticipated sci-fi dark comedy directed by Nathan and David Zellner. According to Blikk, several major stars are expected to join him in Budapest, including Channing Tatum, Zoë Kravitz, Cate Blanchett, Steven Yeun, Léa Seydoux, and Riley Keough.
The film follows a gang of alien invaders who come to Earth with plans to conquer it, only to be derailed by unexpected encounters with human emotions. Disguised as a motorcycle gang, these extraterrestrials gradually begin to empathise with humanity, throwing their mission into chaos. Cate Blanchett leads the titular Alpha Gang as “Alpha One”.
Though the Zellner brothers announced the project years ago, it’s now moving into production, with filming set to begin in Budapest soon this year. The Hungarian capital has become a hotspot for international film productions in recent years, and with this star-studded cast, it’s once again stepping into the global spotlight.
