Hungarian company 4iG secures major deals in Türkiye during PM Orbán’s official visit

Listed ICT company 4iG told MTI late on Monday that it has signed strategic partnership agreements with Türkiye’s leading defence and investment companies.

Strategic agreement of 4iG with Nurol Makina Sanayi

4iG Space and Defence Technologies (4iG SDT), unit of 4iG, signed a strategic agreement with Turkish defence company Nurol Makina Sanayi. Under agreement 4iG SDT will acquire exclusive distribution rights in Hungary for the sale of Gidran 4×4 tactical armoured vehicles – based on the future distribution agreement – through 2030.

Nurol Makina is one of Türkiye’s leading manufacturers of armoured combat vehicles. 4iG said this partnership represents a key step in deepening Hungarian-Turkish economic relations and opens new opportunities for joint development initiatives and industrial cooperation.

4iG also signed an agreement with international defence electronics company Aselsan on establishing a joint venture which in the future may develop and manufacture, for example, remotely controlled weapon systems in Hungary.

4iG also announced that it has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with TWF INTERNATIONAL, the international investment subsidiary of the Turkish sovereign wealth fund.

Economic cooperation strengthened

The aim of the partnerships is to strengthen Hungarian-Turkish economic and defence industrial cooperation in the long term, support the domestic production and development of NATO-compatible technologies, and promote 4iG Group’s international cooperation in key strategic sectors.

4iG chairman Gellért Jászai said the partnerships attract high value-added developments and manufacturing capacities to Hungary, which creates significant value for both the group of companies and the Hungarian economy.

The agreements were signed in the presence of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the two countries’ high-profile diplomatic and economic cooperation forum in Istanbul.
