Hungarian authorities prepared to tackle possible bioterrorist attack
Budapest, November 24 (MTI) – Hungarian authorities are prepared to handle a possible biological or chemical terrorist attack and take action for the safety of people, daily Magyar Idok said on Tuesday.
The national disaster management authority is prepared to immediately intervene in the instance of a chemical attack by deploying trucks equipped with mobile labs to identify any agents in fast-track checks, spokesman Daniel Mukics told the paper.
The authority is prepared to supply in cooperation with the municipal water works 225,000 litres of purified drinking water to the public per day, he said.
The national epidemiology centre is also prepared to detect any agents in its laboratory operated under strict safety conditions, the human resources ministry told the paper.
