Hungarian expert new member in standing committee of WHO Regional Committee for Europe
National Healthcare Service Centre deputy director Hanna Páva has been elected a member of the standing committee of the World Health Organisation’s Regional Committee for Europe, the human resources ministry said on Wednesday.
A four-day meeting of the WHO European regional committee started in Budapest on Monday and it is being chaired by state secretary for family and youth affairs and international affairs Katalin Novák, the statement noted.
Páva has been elected to the post for a period of three years.
The standing committee represents the regional committee and ensures that the committee’s decisions and policies are implemented. It also acts as an advisor on issues submitted to the regional committee, meets the regional director during the period between regional committee meetings and submits own proposals to the regional committee meeting and the regional director, the statement added.
