Hungarian FM: ‘Serious’ global security challenges may result from escalation of war

Change language:
Serious global security challenges are likely if the war in Ukraine escalates further, Péter Szijjártó, the minister of foreign affairs and trade, said on Tuesday in Geneva, where he addressed a meeting of the executive committee of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
Szijjártó said the international community should avoid measures that would escalate tensions and focus instead on peace-making, according to a ministry statement. Europe’s current security challenges, he added, were “unparalleled” since the second world war, and countries in the war’s vicinity like Hungary felt its effects more keenly than countries at a greater distance from it.
He called for an immediate ceasefire and peace talks, adding that the international community should focus on resolving the conflict by diplomatic means. “If everything carries on as it is, we’ll face problems of unimaginable gravity,” the minister said.

In these times, I think almost everybody (not just FM Sz.) is saying/thinking, (in the words of J.L.) >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvBk4atAaq0 But, in order for that to happen, FM Sz. would have to appeal to his master to try and convince his bosombody V.P. to stop bombing Ukraine, withdraw from all occupied areas, rescind the annextion of all SOVEREIGN Ukrainian areas, ask all ethnic Russians / NEW Russian citizens, to voluntarily migrate to Russia. End of war! Instead, his master will continue to blame George Soros, the EU, NATO, and illegal immigration for ALL of Hungary’s, ney, the World’s ills and woes.
– Why do I have the feeling that most of those Russians would rather remain out of the cluthches of V.P.?
Well he’s certainly right about that. China is watching every move and learning from Russia’s mistakes. Don’t always be focused on where all the action is. Keep a close eye on China. With their technology they can manipulate situations very easily. Shame we’re so dependent on them, but of course that’s what they do. Invest heavily in failing economies and we’re definitely that.
