Hungarian musician nominated for Best Artist title at Songlines Music Awards

Félix Lajkó is nominated in the category of Best Artist at one of the most significant international world music magazine’s award show, writes index.hu.
The London-based international magazine specializing in world music announced the nominees of this year’s Songlines Music Awards and, as the only Hungarian, Félix Lajkó was included in the runner ups for Best Artist.
The Songlines Music Awards were launched in 2009 in order to acknowledge the amazing artists of world music; ever since then, they awarded Best Artist musicians such as Goran Bregović, Bassekou Kouyate, Mariza, and Anoushka Shankar.
One of the songs of Lajkó’s album called Most jöttem was featured on the Top of the World CD of the August-September issue of Songlines in 2016 and now he is up for an award as one of the best artists of world music. The talented violinist, zither player, and composer was actually born in Serbia to a Hungarian family and, according to his bio, his music seems to be “representing and culturally connecting Hungary and his native Voivodina region”. Moreover, he picks his styles and trends rather freely and plays all genres of music alike and “[has his] way in improvising and composing”.
