Hungarian paramedic curses during CPR, gets reported
During performing a CPR, a young paramedic accidentally cursed in concern, which was complained about in a several-page letter by a bystander witness.
Accidental swearing, unnecessary report
A passer-by did not like the way a paramedic performing CPR on the street swore as the patient in her arms went into respiratory arrest. On its Facebook page, the National Ambulance Service (OMSZ) shared an interesting story about a paramedic who was complained about because of a swear word she dropped while saving a life.
“The heart of a man in his 50s, who was being examined for chest complaints in a public place in the capital last week, stopped beating in front of our colleagues. The rescuers immediately started CPR, during which the patient’s circulation started several times and then collapsed again,” reads the Facebook post.
According to the OMSZ, while the resuscitation was in progress, one of the young paramedics said “oh, f**k” (“ó, b*ssza meg” in Hungarian), which was very much disliked by a passer-by who wrote a several-page letter, reporting the paramedic who was performing the resuscitation.
The medical director apologised in writing for the swearing in the heat of the rescue and then gave the ambulance crew a professional commendation. After a prolonged resuscitation, the patient was finally transported to hospital in a stable condition, reports mandiner.hu.
The Facebook post of OMSZ reads the following:
“A COMPLAINT WAS MADE AGAINST A PARAMEDIC FOR AN “OH F**K”
A strange complaint was received by the ambulance. The heart of a man in his 50s, who was being examined for chest complaints in a public place in the capital last week, stopped beating in front of our colleagues. The rescuers immediately started CPR, during which the patient’s circulation started several times and then collapsed again.
Meanwhile, a young paramedic comrade accidentally cursed in concern, which was challenged in a multi-page letter by one of the witnesses. After hearing from the parties concerned, the medical director wrote to apologise for “the swearing in the heat of the rescue” and then gave the ambulance crew professional praise for the fact that they were able to transport the patient to hospital in a stable condition after a protracted resuscitation. We wish [the patient] a speedy recovery and congratulate all those involved in saving lives!”
