Hungarian tourism is picking up again!
The coronavirus pandemic has had a number of negative effects on several areas of the economy. Tourism was no exception. By 2021, however, everything seems to be starting to return to the pre-coronavirus period. Many more people in Hungary have travelled abroad this year than in 2020. Further growth in the tourism sector can be expected in the future. This is also indicated by the fact that Wizz Air is increasing the number of its employees.
Due to the coronavirus, the journey has also become much more complicated. In 2020, due to this, the traffic at Budapest Airport decreased by a lot. However, this year’s figures are encouraging.
In June this year, three times as many passengers turned up at Liszt Ferenc Airport as last year.
Growth was even higher in April and May. The July numbers were also expected to be favourable. “The dynamic growth of the number of passengers clearly indicates the beginning of the summer season, but the increasing traffic volume, the easing of travel restrictions, the introduction of the EU Covid certificate, and the number of flights from Budapest to more and more destinations also play an important role,” a representative of Liszt Ferenc International Airport told index.hu.
You could travel to 153 destinations from Budapest before the epidemic. It is currently reduced to 90, but soon, up to 120 destinations may be available. In June, there was an average of 250-300 scheduled flights a week at the airport. The spirit to travel is returning, but it is still far from the pre-epidemic period.
Only 20 per cent of the passenger numbers in the 2019 record year returned by 2021.
Due to coronavirus vaccination, the rules have relaxed a lot. However, masks are still mandatory on planes. In addition, you should find out about the rules in the destination country.
The fact that Wizz Air wants to increase the number of its employees also indicates the revival of tourism, writes napi.hu. The airline is scheduled to hire 4,600 pilots by 2030. Wizz Air operates 800 routes to 191 destinations in a total of 49 countries. Not only the staff but also the machinery will be expanded. The Wizz Air fleet is expected to expand by 500 Airbus aircraft over the next 10 years.

09.08.2021. In Skradin, Dalmatia, Croatia ,the Hungarian turist jumped from the top of the yacht straight on the swan! The kids on the boat were laughing, and his friend was recording it all on his cell phone and that was just hilarious to them. After that jump, the swan struggled for a few more minutes, couldn’t lift his neck and eventually died. This is a crime!
