Hungarian universities to host 2024 European Universities Games
The 2024 European Universities Games (EUG) will be hosted by the University of Debrecen and the University of Miskolc, a culture and innovation ministry official announced on Thursday.
Hosting the games in Hungary is one of the ways the government “is bringing the whirlwind of international life” to Hungarian universities and “shifting international programmes to a higher gear”, Balázs Hankó, the state secretary for higher education, said at the Educatio international education expo in Budapest.
Hankó noted that Hungary aims to have at least one university among the world’s top 100 universities and at least three among the top 100 European higher education institutions by 2030.
