Hungary aims to be among top 10 most innovative countries by 2040
The government’s aim is to propel Hungary into the top ten of the world’s most innovative countries by 2040, János Csák, the Minister of Culture and Innovation, said in Győr, in north-western Hungary, on Tuesday.
To this end, the government spends some HUF 300 billion (EUR 790.4 million) each year on innovation, with HUF 2,100 billion (EUR 5.55 billion) spent over the last seven years, Csák said at the inauguration of the new building of the Science and Innovation Park.
He pointed to the Neumann János Programme aimed at fostering stronger ties between universities, research institutions, businesses and the financial sector with a view to strengthening the economy.
