Hungary can maintain import ban on Ukraine farm products
Hungary can maintain the results and measures in connection with a newly introduced ban on imports of Ukrainian farm products, Agriculture Minister István Nagy said after talks with European Commission officials in Brussels on Wednesday.
Hungary will continue to ensure the transit of Ukrainian grain and that the crops leave the country in a controlled manner, Nagy told MTI, adding that further talks were taking place on the types of products the import ban could be extended to.
He said it had been worthwhile for Hungary to take a firm stance on the issue and protect the interests of Hungarian farmers, arguing that it had forced the EC to take action.
