Hungary chose the song for the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 – Video
This year the Eurovision Song Contest takes place in Tel Aviv, and many countries have selected the song which represents their country including Hungary as well. The Hungarian audience voted Joci Pápai’s song to be the song of Hungary in 2019 on Saturday.
Szeretlek Magyarország reported that Joci Pápai’s song titled Az én apám (My father) got the highest score during the competition and became Hungary’s favourite song in 2019.
The song was composed and written by Pápai and features beautiful Hungarian folk music sounds which makes it even more recognisable because Pápai’s songs always have folk music motives.

Another huge success for the singer is that he wrote history because he is the first person in Hungary to represent the country at the contest for the second time in three years after 2017 with the song Origo.
Joci Pápai (born as József Pápai) has been playing music since his age of four. His public debut was in 2005 when he took part in the Hungarian talent show Megasztár and became known in the country. He already released songs in 2006 but his major breakout was in 2015.
Since 2005 he released one studio album and nine hit singles in Hungary.
