Hungary does not want ‘exported democracy’, says Orbán cabinet

Hungary does not want “exported democracy”, Barna Pál Zsigmond, the parliamentary state secretary for EU affairs, said in a video posted on social media on Saturday.
Hungary does not want “exported democracy”
Zsigmond called out the European Parliament’s Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) for “continuously attacking” Hungary. He said politicians in Brussels were investigating Hungary as if it were their full-time job.
Zsigmond said he had visited LIBE in Brussels in January, answered all their questions and had stood up for Hungarian interests, after which they had placed the “pre-written” verdict in front of him and read it out.
LIBE visited Hungary in March and is coming again now, he said, adding that when Hungary had held the EU’s rotating presidency, interest had not been so high regarding its programme.
He said that instead of dialogue, there was “only criticism and blacklisting”, and while there were no talks with the government, delegations were happy to take photos with NGOs.
Zsigmond said Hungarians were advocates of dialogue and the defence of their own position and sovereignty, and they “want no part of left-wing or European People’s Party puppet governments”.

Funnily enough, Mr. Zelenskyy always asks everyone to visit Ukraine, since it is much easier to separate fact from fiction when people are actually where the action happens.
Not so our Politicians apparently – which is odd, given there is 20 plus billion EUR in funding for Hungary currently being withheld due to various concerns.
