New record for Hungary: five people on the most wanted list of the EU
Until now, there have never been five Hungarian people at the same time on the European Union’s Most Wanted list. More than fifty people are on it from all the member states, including five Hungarians who are parts of a drug related criminal organisation.
Europol added five Hungarian men to its list of most wanted criminals, the Készenléti Rendőrség Nemzeti Nyomozó Iroda (Emergency Police National Investigation Bureau) announced on Thursday. The list includes people wanted for drug trafficking, money laundering, human trafficking, armed robbery, terrorism and murder.
The investigation against the Hungarian criminal organisation has been going on since 2020. The investigators of the Készenléti Rendőrség Nemzeti Nyomozó Iroda in Debrecen managed to identify seven members of the criminal gang. They arrested two of them, international arrest warrants are in force against five others, wrote Röviden.hu.
There are two organisations working side by side, one operating in Kecskemét and Kecel, the other in Debrecen. The first one provided both of them with drug supplies for distributing. Its members were involved in the cultivation, processing and distribution of marijuana. In Bács-Kiskun county, they operated a hall with advanced technology, supplying organisations in both counties with the materials needed to conduct drug trafficking.
Domestic, European and international arrest warrants are in force against five people. The authorities are seeking public help to track down drug dealers. Everyone can see the photos of the men at police.hu. Their campaign’s aim is to bring down criminal organizations, with the slogan ‘Ledöntheted őket – #GameOver’ (You can overthrow them – #GameOver). Criminal networks act as a house of cards, and an anonymous tip can even bring down the entire organisation.
