Hungary’s home rental prices jump 9.4% in a year, Budapest rates soar

Home rental rates in Hungary rose 9.4pc year-on-year in January, data compiled by the Central Statistics Office (KSH) from listings site ingatlan.com show.
Rental rates in the capital increased 9.5pc. In a month-on-month comparison, home rental rates rose 1.7pc nationwide and were up 1.8pc in Budapest. In the capital, the rates for flats in outlying districts reached HUF 150,000-160,000/month (EUR 370-396) but averaged HUF 350,000 (EUR 867) in the city centre. The average monthly rental rate was HUF 227,000 (EUR 562) in Debrecen, HUF 160,000 (EUR 396) in Pécs, HUF 150,000 (EUR 370) in Szeged and HUF 120,000 (EUR 287) in Miskolc.
