Meanwhile, Numbeo compared the safety of the European cities. According to their results, Budapest ranked 51st on a list of 130 cities. Foreigners complained about overpricing in bars, clubs and restaurants, a revolting method owners of such places try to deceive people from abroad who are not aware of the prices in Hungary. The complaint concerned taxi drivers. But most of the foreigners praised the hospitality of the Hungarians.

  1. I would say that the safety of Hungary is important just as much to those of us who live here as it is to tourists! Just a shame that there are still establishments in Budapest who think it’s ok to rip off tourists. That’s soooo 1990s. I wonder if they also offer to exchange currency, giving toilet paper in exchange, to complete the “Budapest Retro” experience.
