Hungary, Kazakhstan to step up cooperation, Minister Szijjártó said in Astana

All conditions are in place to take economic cooperation between Hungary and Kazakhstan to the next level, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said in Astana on Monday.
At a joint press conference with his Kazakh counterpart, Murat Nurtleu, Szijjártó said Hungary had already profited much from that cooperation, adding that the sides had discussed related issues in detail. He noted that Hungarian oil and gas company MOL had ploughed HUF 80bn (USD 208.5m) into operations in Kazakhstan, producing 300m cubic metres of gas at a field with five wells.
He said an agreement had been reached with the Kazakh energy minister on government support for MOL’s participation in new hydrocarbon exploration.
He added that MOL could participate in a technologically complicated production project in a field in strategic cooperation with Kazakh and Chinese partners. Szijjártó said Hungarian agribusinesses could play a big role in the modernisation of Kazakhstan’s farming sector, adding that a laboratory, feed plant and training centre would be established in the framework of a HUF 25bn investment. He pointed to Hungarian pharmaceutical company Gedeon Richter’s presence in Kazakhstan and said Hungarian medical equipment manufacturers had also made in-roads in the country. Cooperation could also extend to nuclear energy, as Kazakhstan weighs the possibility of a dry cooling system from Hungarian energy group MVM for local power plant investment, he added.

He said another direct flight between Kazakhstan and Hungary would be launched in May, connecting Budapest with Shymkent, Kazakhstan’s third-biggest city. read details HERE: new airline in Budapest to take us to a special place from May. Making friends with Kazakhstan is a great move. This country is rich in rare minerals that modern Hungarian economy needs from medical, aerospace, automotive and other industries. Hungary only has yttrium that can be used in laser technology.
