Hungary Opens Consulate General in Iraqi Kurdistan
Erbil (MTI) – Istvan Mikola, state secretary at the Hungarian foreign ministry, opened a consulate general for Hungary in Erbil, the capital city of Iraqi Kurdistan, on Wednesday.
Hungary aims to boost bilateral cooperation with Iraq and further develop business ties, Mikola said in his address at the ceremony.
Iraq’s energy sector could greatly contribute to stability and security on the global energy markets, while Hungarian companies could find good opportunities in Iraq’s health projects, the state secretary said.
Hungary supports Iraq’s unity, independence, and territorial integrity, as well as the Iraqi government’s fight against terrorism, Mikola said.
