Hungary scrambles Gripens as sport aircraft enters airspace without permit
Hungarian Air Force Gripen fighters were scrambled on Thursday after a sport aircraft entered Hungary’s airspace without a permit, the Ministry of Defence told MTI.
The aircraft which had taken off in Graz entered Hungarian airspace without a permit near Szombathely. The Gripens intercepted it near Sümeg and forced it to leave Hungary’s airspace at 2.35pm.
The Hungarian authorities have notified the Austrian authorities of the incident, the ministry said.
