Hungary’s industrial output drops by 2.4pc in March
Hungarian industrial output in March was down by 2.4 percent, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said in a second reading of data released on Monday.
Declining output in the vehicle, electronics, food and machinery segments drove the drop of unadjusted industrial output, the report said.
Adjusted for the number of workdays, output climbed 1.9 percent, KSH said.
In a month-on-month comparison, output fell a seasonally and workday-adjusted 0.7 percent from February.
The figures are unchanged from the preliminary data released on May 8.
Output of nine of the manufacturing sector’s thirteen segments was down in March, albeit from a high base, KSH said.
Output of vehicle manufacturers fell an annual 2.6 percent in March, and output of computer, electronics and optical products rubber, plastic and non-metal mineral producers dropped by 4 percent. Output of the food companies was down by 2.4 percent and machinery companies’ output fell by 16.3 percent.
