Contemporary photography space House of Lucie in Budapest launched “Best of Show” exhibition showcasing the extraordinary work of the International Photography Awards (IPA) 2020 category winners and a special curated selection of winning images by esteemed photography curator, editor and publisher, Anne Morin.

Sharing some of her thoughts on her selection, Anne Morin said: “Bringing together photographs in the form of an exhibition is above all to give free rein to one’s sensitivity, and it is this sensitivity that makes a certain typology visible and creates a clearly defined order and logic. An exhibition contains its own dialectical movements, which together tell a story. I conceived this “Best of Show” exhibition as an exquisite corpse, this literary game invented by the Surrealists at the beginning of the 20th century, and of which Georges Bataille will say “it is the most perfect illustration of the spirit.”

Due to the current situation, virtual experiences are taking on a whole new dimension and House of Lucie wanted to take advantage of this: even though photographers and art lovers won’t be able to attend the exhibition opening in person this year, the IPA is offering a virtual view of its “Best of Show” and some of the best photography work of emerging and established artists.  The works move the viewer on a primal, deep level, the emotions and stories conveyed by the images are nothing short of extraordinary.
